Facilities
Conveniently located on the west side of Idaho Falls, near doctors' offices and shopping, The Idaho State licensed Friends and Family Living Center boasts five buildings, each of which is set up like a home with 14 private bedrooms, a central kitchen and laundry facilities. Each of the rooms features a convenient single-level layout with personal climate control, cable television and a telephone.
Meals
A licensed dietician plans all meals, which are served three times a day in a family-style dining room. The menu changes each week and can be adjusted according to residents' needs and desires. The menu is also among the topics discussed during the monthly Residents Council meeting. There's a 24-hour fruit and snack station, too, and outdoor barbecues in the courtyard are a common occurrence when the weather is nice.
Amenities
The center offers religious services, physical and occupational therapy, medication assistance, and home health and hospice services.
A number of in-house activities are offered, too. The village-like setting consists of courtyard for family events and cookouts with other residents. There is also a grassy area for outdoor games and activities, a garden area, a salon for haircuts and space for card games and movies.
In addition to in-house activities, the center's residents participate in a number of community events, including the weekly Idaho Falls farmers' market, Alive After Five, bowling and movies.
The center also offers daily housekeeping and laundry services, although residents can handle this on their own if they wish.
Transportation
The staff collaborates with a number of local transportation providers to ensure its residents get where they need to be, on time and in comfort. Transportation can be scheduled through a local PSR company or Medicaid.
Medical Services
In addition to being licensed by the state, the center staffs caregivers around the clock in each of the five buildings. A Registered Nurse oversees the staff and is on call 24/7. The staff monitors and controls all medications, and each member is fully trained in behavior intervention and crisis intervention. The center also offers physical and occupational therapy, and home heath and hospice services.
Payment Plans
These can be set up through private pay or Medicaid.
